Located in Prince William, Stafford, and Fauquier Counties, the Quantico Marine Corps Base covers nearly 100 square miles. It is home to The U.S. Marine Corps' Combat Development Command, the Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, the Marine Corps Research Center, The Marine Corps Brig, the FBI Academy, and the training facility for the DEA. Ideally situated near the communities of Woodbridge, Dumfries, Stafford, Fredericksburg, Manassas, Triangle, the base offers convenient access to Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Shopping and Dining
Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center is Woodbridge’s latest mixed-use shopping, dining, and living center. Stonebridge is home to a variety of shops and dining establishments including: Blueberi, Chico’s, Cold Water Creek, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Old Navy, P.F. Changs, Starbucks, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, Ulta, White House Black Market, and more. Woodbridge is also home to the Potomac Mills Mall, Virginia’s largest outlet mall. The mall is home to more than 200 stores, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works, Bebe, Best Buy, Coach, Express, Gap, Justice, Kenneth Cole, Lego, and Nike. The Potomac Mills Mall also features numerous restaurants and an AMC theater. Central Park shopping center in Fredericksburg is the largest center of its kind on the east coast. It features more than 200 retailers, including specialty stores, service providers, beauty salons, home furnishings, a Regal Cinema, and a state-of-the art fitness club. Restaurants located in the Central Park center include Applebee’s, Bonefish Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and Great China Restaurant. The Spotsylvania Towne Center features JcPennys, Macys, Sears, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Belk, and Costco.

Parks and Recreation
Northern Virginia is known for its beautiful parks. Accotink Park comprises 493 acres of wetlands, streams, and natural-surface hiking trails. It also is home to: a 55-acre lake, where visitors can canoe, boat, and fish; an antique carousel; a nine-green, double-holed miniature golf course; picnic areas; a sand volleyball court; a basketball court; and a playground. Ocoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge comprises 642 natural acres perfect for observing and photographing wildlife and learning about the environment. Visitors can explore the refuge via foot, bicycle, or vehicle. The Osprey’s Golf Club in Woodbridge features an 18-hole, Par 72 Audubon Certified championship course situated along the Occoquan River. And, of course, the base has its own recreational activities as well. The 57,000 sq. ft. Barber Physical Activities Center offers group exercise classes, a spin studio, a fitness room, three racquetball courts, a full-sized basketball court, a child co-op, a Wi-Fi lounge, men’s and women’s saunas, and a smoothie bar. Outdoor activities on base include hunting, fishing, archery, firewood cutting, wildlife viewing, and running or biking on over 15 miles of maintained trails.

Quantico Marine Corps Base real estate is located approximately 35 miles south of Washington, D.C. Most people who live off the Quantico Marine Corps base purchase real estate in one of the surrounding communities. Woodbridge offers a small-town atmosphere with easy access to Washington, DC and some of the region’s best outdoor locations, including the Potomac and Ocoquan rivers. Fredericksburg, located approximately 22 miles from the base, is one of the fastest growing communities in Virginia. The independent city is known for its history, thriving economy, shopping centers, and beautiful houses. Dumfries is just minutes from Quantico, and offers townhouses and medium to large single-family homes. Stafford, Manassas, and Triangle are also close to the base.

Schools, Health, Transportation
Children who live on the base attend either Quantico Middle/High School or one of three elementary schools: Ashurst Elementary, Burrows Elementary, or John H. Russell Elementary. Children who live off the base are served by one of the county schools depending on where they live. Prince William County Public Schools, Stafford County Public Schools, Fredericksburg City Schools, and Spotsylvania County Public Schools serve the communities closest to the base.

There are many hospitals near Quantico, including Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, and Prince William Hospital in Manassas. The Naval Health Clinic at Quantico offers doctor visits and school physicals.

Interstate 95 provides access to Washington, D.C. from most communities around the Quantico base. Residents also can use the Virginia Railway Express, which has stations in Fredericksburg, Quantico, Woodbridge, Lorton, Manassas, and Alexandria. Long distance travel is easy with Amtrak.
